This is a voluntary task, I’m not assessing it, it’s just a beginning to inquiry:
The world has changed, how has the sound of your city, your neighbourhood changed?
Stick your head out the window, or go outside and listen. Listen carefully. What does the sound of your city sound like? Is it different?
Grab your phone. Download a sound recording app if you need to. Record 20 to 30 seconds of the atmosphere outside where you live and email it to me. Send me a short description of what you have heard.
I will post the results to our new Soundcloud page.
Try and record to uncompressed audio if you can (quiet sounds are a bit weird in highly compressed mp3’s)
There are heaps of different apps out there but on my iPhone I use Voice Record Pro and record at least 16bit .wav files.
